The use of machines makes special demands on users, either in the form of training or
protective measures. With the help of a number of symbols we would like to bring to your attention important safety aspects and suggestions for suitable protective equipment.
Safety boots
Products that can cause severe injuries from squeezing as a result of their weight or force. It is advisable to wear safety shoes.
Cutting tools
Equipment that can cause severe injuries from rotating/cutting machine components and blades. We recommend that the user exercises extra vigilance so that the risk for injuries are reduced.
Safety goggles
Some machines spread chips and grindings around them. We therefore recommend that the user wears safety goggles to reduce the risk for injuries. Also keep your surroundings in mind.
Vibrating tools
During longer use, there is a risk of injuries from vibrations, i.e. vibration white finger. Consequently, these machines should not be used continuously for longer periods of time. In addition, we recommend that the user wears vibration-damping gloves to reduce the risk.
Risk of fire
Equipment with this symbol can cause a fire due to sparking and open flames. Be extra cautious in how you direct flames and spark currents. We recommend that fire extinguishing equipment be close at hand when this equipment is used.
Ear protectors
When exposed for longer periods of time, there is a risk for impaired hearing. We therefore recommend that the user and all people in his surroundings wear ear protectors to reduce the risk for injuries.
Training
Equipment that is more demanding to use. Consequently, we would like the user to have experience, have received instruction or have documented training to reduce the risks.
Fall protection
A harness should be used in all cases when there is a risk of falling from heights. Harnesses are only to be used as support to assist when working with both hands.
Respiratory protective equipment
The question of whether or not there is a lack of oxygen is an important issue when choosing respiratory protective equipment. Other factors that should be considered, apart from which hazardous substances the equipment should provide protection against, are the length of the work period, temperature and visibility requirements, etc.
